About this deal

In my opinion, ABBA is the best Swedish pop band of all time and their songs are some of the best from the 70s pop era. This particular album collects their best songs from 1970-75 and is an overall amazing album. The amount of great hits on this album alone makes it worth the cost of buying it, my personal favourites are "Honey, Honey", "Waterloo" and "SOS". The reason I don't give this album a 9 is because of the film Mamma Mia, even though it bought the band more fame than they already had, it also makes it so that when you play a song by ABBA, it is more often than not someone will say "oh, thats the song from Mamma Mia" and won't actually know the band. Other than this, this album's music evokes a sense of nostalgia for many people as a lot of people's parent's listened to it or you may remember it from your childhood. And this is the reason that this album is the best ABBA album to get if you are just getting started, it represents the best of ABBA's early years and is a must for any record collection.

Svensktoppen was a vote-based radio chart show for Swedish-language songs. ABBA had three number ones in this chart ("Ring Ring", "Waterloo", "Honey Honey") and a number 6 ("Åh, Vilka Tider"). Polar issued 'official' Swedish versions of " Bang-A-Boomerang" and "Dance (While the Music Still Goes On)" by Svenne & Lotta, both reached number 2 in this chart. Svenne & Lotta had hits with these songs in several markets. Other acts, including both Agnetha and Frida as solo performers, made Swedish-language versions of other ABBA songs; only "So Long" had not been a hit on the Svensktoppen chart, though "So Long" had been a hit on the Danish equivalent Dansktoppen. A few more songs had been issued as singles somewhere in the world, with I've Been Waiting For You reaching #49 in Australia and Love Isn't Easy (But it Sure Is Hard Enough) charting at #21 in Denmark.
