Ingredients: Each ml of suspension contains 5.0mg pyrantel (as pyrantel embonate 14.4mg) and 15mg febantel. Drontal worm tablets treat all types of intestinal worms commonly found in the UK, including roundworms and tapeworms. However Drontal does not treat lungworm in dogs. If you are concerned about your dog being at risk from lungworm please speak with your veterinary practice. Your vet will be able to advise on appropriate preventative treatment for lungworm that is only available from veterinary practices. Product As with all medication, side effects can occur on occasion. If you notice any adverse signs after using Drontal Oral Suspension, please ask your vet for advice. Does Drontal treat lungworm? Drontal Puppy Liquid Wormer should be started from 2 weeks of age and repeated once every 2 weeks until weaning, to ensure that you have peace of mind that both your puppy and family are safe from unwanted visitors.Drontal Dog Tasty Bone XL provides a higher dose for larger dogs and can be given to dogs weighing over 17.5kg. Drontal is also available as an oral suspension for puppies. Regular treatment will help combat worms in your dog and help keep them happy and healthy. The safety of the product has not been assessed in puppies younger than 2 weeks and weighing less than 0.600 kg. This unopened veterinary medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions. After opening, store the product at a temperature not exceeding 25ºC. Oral administration. The product may be given directly to the animal or mixed with feed. No special dietary measures are necessary.The anthelmintic effects of both pyrantel (spastic paralysis) and piperazine (neuromuscular paralysis) may be antagonised when the two drugs are used together. Pyrantel, (E)-1,4,5,6-Tetrahydro-1-methyl-2-[2-(2-thienyl) vinyl] pyrimidine pamoate belongs to the tetrahydropyrimidine type. Its mode of action is to stimulate nicotinic cholinergic receptors inducing spastic paralysis and thereby allowing removal from the gastro-intestinal (GI) system by paralysis.
