About this deal

We wish there wasn't such an easy answer to this question, because competition is better for everybody, but Anker is making the best power banks right now by far. It offers the best power-to-weight ratio, the fastest charging, and the most useful features. Most power banks now use a USB-C port to recharge, although some models will have a micro-USB port as well to ensure compatibility with older chargers. Don’t worry if you don’t have the required cable, as one will usually be provided in the box. The most common kind of input port is USB-C — the same port found on all modern iPhones. USB-C ports are easy to use, efficient, and durable. The Anker Nano is only 5,000mAh, but that doesn't mean it can fully charge a 5,000mAh phone battery like you'll find in the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Power banks are about 60-70% efficient, depending on the phone's technology, so this power bank is good for charging an iPhone 15 to nearly full, but that big Ultra will only get about 65% charge.

In 2023, nearly every gadget and gizmo that we use has a battery. Our phones are the primary example, but nearly everything — from headlamps to headphones — has built-in rechargeable batteries. Anything with 20,000mAh or above will charge your phone multiple times, and many can charge several devices at the same time. As such, they're usually larger, weightier and can be more expensive. Power banks only need a single input charging port, but it’s handy to have multiple types of output ports. On this list, the Lion Trek Power Bank has an impressive variety of outputs including USB-A, USB-C, and an AC outlet. Though it’s great to have plenty of output options, power bank users will mostly use USB-C ports. Wireless Charging and Magnetic Power BanksYou have a watch that isn't from Apple: The Otterbox 2-in-1 Power Bank only attaches magnetically to the Apple Watch. Other smartwatches, like the Pixel Watch, won't work with this one, not at all. You can buy the Tylt Bottle with just a power bank attached, but our review sample from AT&T had the full wireless charging treatment. It's easy to set up a phone to charge while studying, working out, or working away from home: all places we take a water bottle and need a full phone battery.

The bottle is actually a nice, insulated affair, and it kept ice in cold water for 12 hours, which is all that we need. It has a good, strong strap to carry the bottle, though we would have liked a lid that was easier for sipping. There are plenty of combination power bank and some other device, but the Tylt Bottle 2 actually makes sense because we're usually carrying an insulated water bottle anyway, so we might as well screw a battery onto the bottom. With a 5,700mAh capacity, the Tylt Bottle 2 is just enough to get us through a very busy day, or keep the phone powered while we play games at the cafe.

The World's No. 1 Mobile Charging Brand*

Given that most individuals don't leave home with a dead phone, a 5,000 mAh power bank should be sufficient to ensure that your phone lasts well over a day even if you're a heavy phone user. Quality Throughout:Built adventure-tier touch with superior durability and scratch resistance, PowerCore Slim 10000 is premium both inside and out.

The best power banks we have tried have all come from Anker, but that doesn't mean Anker is the only brand you should consider. All of the power banks on this list passed our testing, traveling with us on the road and powering our devices at home. Anker is the best, but these batteries from Baseus and Otterbox performed well. Now, let's talk about charging speed. The PowerIQ Charging Technology integrated into this power bank is a game-changer. It automatically detects the device connected and delivers the fastest possible charge, ensuring that I spend less time waiting and more time enjoying my adventures. Whether I'm charging my iPhone or my Samsung Galaxy, the Anker Portable Charger handles it all with lightning speed.

The best portable chargers for more demanding users

Many of the best power banks come with a mid-range capacity, as it's a great balance between portability and convenience. Most of the power banks on this list hold around 10,000 mAh — a standard size for recharging small devices like smartphones, Bluetooth headphones, and smartwatches. Though brands often claim their 10,000 mAh power banks can recharge smartphones five, six, or seven times — they rarely live up to those claims. Basically, you’re trying to balance four factors: size, speed, capacity and price. The rules are simple enough: the less you spend, the lower the capacity and the slower the power bank will charge. MiniCell Technology: Anker has introduced their new MiniCell technology which provides identical charging performance with fewer components, making this power bank smaller and lighter than ever before. At a faster pace than ever, the world demands staying connected and powered up. Having a reliable source of power is crucial for mobile devices regardless of travel, remote work, or general mobility. That's where the best MagSafe power bank comes in.

All smartphone manufacturers utilize different batteries and charging systems. The working capacity of any power bank entirely depends on the device it is charging. Most fully charged smartphones contain 3,000 to 4,000 mAh, That means, on paper, a 10,000 mAh power bank can recharge a smartphone about three times. Smartphone batteries are becoming larger and more efficient. In our experience, 10,000 mAh power banks will charge a modern smartphone between two and three times. On this list, the Nitecore NB10000 is the most impressive 10k mAh power bank that we tested. It fully charged an iPhone 13 two and a half times. In conclusion, the Anker Portable Charger, 313 Power Bank (PowerCore Slim 10K), is an absolute game-changer. With its massive battery capacity, sleek design, fast charging capabilities, and emphasis on safety, it has become an indispensable companion for all my adventures. From surviving unexpected power outages to ensuring I capture every precious moment, this power bank has proven itself time and time again.

The best power banks you can buy in 2023

Compatible with most USB-charged devices, including iPhone 8 / X / XS / XS Max / XR (Lightning cable required), Android smartphones and tablets (including the Nexus 7), USB-C MacBooks / iPad (USB A to C cable required). How fast is it going to charge the phone?: You can get a portable charger with a battery capacity of 50,000mAh or more. However, it’s not great if it takes all day to charge your phone. Ideally, the best portable chargers should take advantage of your device’s fast charging capabilities. Our favorite power bank has a 10,000mAh battery, and the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery, so the math should be simple, right? It charges twice. Except that's not how it works. Power banks are not 100% efficient, and even though you start with plenty of power, a lot of it is lost in the charging process.
